Getting More From Plex Without Customizing It

MPI Corporation, a holding company for metal-forming businesses, extended its Plex ERP investment with applications built on Fuuz, starting with receiving, instead of customizing the ERP.

The challenge

Where They Started

  • An ERP upgrade that would have required many customizations
  • Receiving that did not work the way the business needed
  • A goal of extending Plex without local installs, thin clients or bolt-ons

The story

How It Came Together

MPI runs Plex as its ERP. When an upgrade would have meant carrying many customizations forward, MPI chose to keep Plex standard and build what it needed alongside it on Fuuz.

Receiving came first: an application that works the way MPI actually receives material, connected to Plex. MES, production scheduling, pricing algorithms and financial processes followed on the same platform, so each new application reuses the same data and integrations instead of adding another customization to the ERP.
