The story

## How It Came Together

Dexter Fastener Technologies, in Dexter, Michigan, ships fasteners just in time to automotive OEMs including Honda, Toyota, Nissan and Subaru. A late shipment can stop a customer's line, so the warehouse has to route, store and pick material exactly when it is needed.

When the company replaced its AS/400 with Plex, two gaps stood out. Plex could not schedule Dexter's in-house process operations, and it could not pre-print and validate production labels; doing that within Plex would have added a six-figure hardware and maintenance cost every year.

Dexter implemented Fuuz on top of Plex for scheduling, label pre-printing and validation, MES and WMS, with integrations into and out of Plex across multiple facilities. Fuuz filled the gaps Plex presented and helped avoid costly shutdowns at customers during the initial launch. Plex went in, and Dexter kept what made it special on the plant floor.
